As it’s getting closer to “Anger Management” premiere, FX releases another teaser for the new sitcom. Still poking fun at Charlie Sheen’s past troubles, the former “Two and a Half Men” actor is featured walking on to a railroad and making a train derail. Still, he escapes the explosion unscathed and tells the camera, “Come on, everyone deserves a 24th chance.”

In the upcoming show, Sheen plays a former baseball player named Charlie who now becomes a therapist specializing in anger management. It will not only focus on his work life, but also on his personal life as showrunner Bruce Helford described it, “It’s half workplace and half personal life but there’s an organic flow back and forth.”
Selma Blair is cast as Charlie’s therapist, who is also envisioned as a love interest for him, while Shawnee Smith portrays Jennifer, Charlie’s ex-wife. Sheen’s real ex-wife Denise Richards is additionally tapped to guest star as Jennifer’s business partner.
The show will premiere Thursday, June 28 at 9/8c on FX with two back-to-back episodes.
Ashton Kutcher successfully sustains the life span of “Two and a Half Men“. CBS has just renewed the sitcom for a tenth season after completing a new license agreement with series producer, Warner Bros. TV.

In addition, Kutcher and his co-stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones will also receive a small raise in their paycheck. THR heard from a source that Kutcher will be making $725,000 per episode instead of $700,000. Cryer makes a little less than that, while Jones earns about half what Kutcher does. They both will also receive a small bump in the numbers.
The lead actors have signed a new one-year deal earlier this month. One of the showrunners, Lee Aronsohn, however, will not return and will be replaced by executive producers Don Reo and Jim Patterson. Nevertheless, Aronsohn will still serve as an executive consultant.
With Kutcher replacing Charlie Sheen, “Men” averaged 15 million viewers in season 9. Although there was a slight dip in the later part of the season, it still posted gains in the key demographics, becoming No. 3 primetime comedy in adults 18-49 behind “Modern Family” and “The Big Bang Theory“.

Don Reo and Jim Patterson have been upped to co-showrunner with Chuck Lorre.
Two and a Half Men stars Ashton Kutcher, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones have locked one-year deals to return to the hit sitcom in the fall. But the CBS series will have different bosses at the helm next season, as showrunner Lee Aronsohn is giving up the reins. Writer-producers Don Reo and Jim Patterson will be elevated to co-showrunners with co-creator Chuck Lorre, sources tell . Aronsohn is said to be segueing into an “executive consultant” role.
Men is still awaiting an official pickup by CBS, so the moves will take effect only if the show returns for a 10th season. But with the cast signed, the network is said to be close to a greenlight after financial details with producer Warner Bros. Television can be worked out. Two and a Half Men is a financial cash cow for CBS and WBTV, though ratings for the show have been down lately, hitting a series-low mark in March. Still, this season’s average is higher than last year, thanks to huge fall numbers fueled by Kutcher replacing fired star Charlie Sheen in the cast.
Aronsohn has been with the show since the beginning, but he came under fire in April for comments he made to THR about female-driven shows at a Toronto screenwriting conference.
“Enough, ladies. I get it. You have periods,” he said when discussing the current boom in women-centric television. He applauded such creators as Whitney Cummings, Chelsea Handler and Tina Fey for discussing formerly taboo subjects on TV. “But we’re approaching peak vagina on television, the point of labia saturation,” he said.
The comments were interpreted by some as sexist. Raising Hope star Martha Plimpton, for instance, wrote on Twitter: “Um, Lee, women are 51% of the population & a coveted demographic for advertisers. What are you thinking?”
Sources say the Men shakeup has been in the works for months and is not related to Aronsohn’s comments. One source tells THR that Lorre one of TV’s busiest writer-producers with Men, Big Bang Theory and Mike and Molly on CBS, will be taking a diminished role in Men for Season 10. But another source says Lorre will continue in his current role, overseeing the showrunning teams on all his shows and becoming more hands-on when necessary.
In addition to the new showrunners, longtime Men writer-producer Eddie Gorodetsky is said to be returning as an executive producer. He also will maintain his consulting producer role on Big Bang Theory.
Sources say the new actor pacts with CBS and producer Warner Bros. Television will give the stars small raises.
Two and a Half Men stars Ashton Kutcher, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones have locked one-year deals to return to the hit sitcom for its 10th season in the fall, The Reporter has learned.
Sources say the new pacts with CBS and producer Warner Bros. Television were finalized last week and will give the stars small raises. Kutcher isn’t getting the $1 million per episode TV Guide reported in March that he was seeking, but he’ll be paid slightly more than the $700,000 to $725,000 per episode (or about $15 million to $16 million) he is widely thought to be making this season. Cryer is said to make a little less than that and also will get a small raise. Jones, who earns about half what Kutcher does, will get a similar bump.
Two and a Half Men is a cash cow for CBS and WBTV, though ratings for the show have been down lately, hitting a series-low 3.6 in March. Still, this season’s average is higher than last year, thanks to huge fall numbers fueled by Kutcher replacing fired longtime star Charlie Sheen in the cast. And syndication deals are worth tens of millions of dollars per season of the show.
Kutcher is repped by CAA and the Sloane Offer law firm. Cryer is repped by UTA and Myman Greenspan. Jones is repped by Paradigm.
